the inspiration for my classes is rooted in my practice + study of a variety of styles of yoga including stråla, ashtanga, yin, restorative + vinyasa. i pull from all of my experiences to create a unique blend of mindful movement that encourages people to do what feels best for their body.

stråla yoga

stråla yoga is a system of movement + being based in tai chi + natural movement. focused on an inner, as opposed to outer, alignment, stråla creates space for people to explore + let go of their idea of what something should look like by resting their attention on how it feels in their body.

Ashtanga Yoga

ashtanga yoga is a style of modern yoga created by k. pattabhi jois during the 20th century, often promoted as a modern-day form of classical indian yoga.

Yin Yoga

yin yoga poses apply moderate stress to the connective tissues of the body - the tendons, fascia, and ligaments - with the aim of increasing circulation in the joints and improving flexibility. a more meditative approach to yoga, its goals are awareness of inner silence + bringing to light a universal, interconnecting quality.

restorative yoga

restorative yoga is a practice that is all about slowing down + opening your body through passive stretching. this practice is prop heavy. think of it as organized rest/nap-time.

vinyasa yoga

vinyasa is rooted in ashtanga yoga + is characterized by smooth transitions between asanas/poses fueled + guided by the breath.

individual or group instruction available upon request.

rae’s classes leave you feeling refreshed, calm + energized. her clear + encouraging guidance makes people feel safe + supported. she is always interested in the people around her + makes everyone feel welcome + at home.
